Last day, one of my router on Lab, had accident. the IOS won’t bootup at the startup. so the detail is in here :

but don’t be worried if you have trouble like that. just try to handle with your own hand. i believe you can. OK, to start fix this problem we need some stuff :

  1. working router [ we use the backup IOS / flash on working router ]
  2. TFTP server [ can be download on here ]
  3. broke router offcourse
  4. stuff of networking [ like switch, UTP cable , and RJ-45 ]

step-by-step backup the IOS system on working router :
1. make sure our fast ethernet on cisco router keep a live [ we can try to ping ]

2. open console router with telnet

3. Before we backup the IOS, we must verify our file IOS system in router, try this step on priveledge console

yup, now we know the spesified file name IOS [ flash ] on our router, just copy line c1700-y7-mz.124-10.bin

4. Backup the flash on TFTP server we made before.

then finish… after this step we must restore our broken Router with the working IOS backup was we made before.

first set variabel networking on rommon console and type set to view the configuration.

just use theĀ  tftpdnld service on rommon console

wait untill the proses restoring complete. after finis. restart the router and then it’s working..

enjoy…. :D
